Our Deadline is Approaching!

Chip in $10

The end of the 2nd Quarter of 2023 is almost here and we’re up against some critical deadlines for our operations and our future fights on behalf of the Second Amendment in Lansing.

And that’s why I am writing to you today.

After a lengthy meeting with our accountant, it’s clear that without an infusion of support from members like you, we will not meet our fundraising deadline for the quarter.

In fact, as I type this, it looks like MFA is facing a fundraising deficit of approximately $32,950 — at a time when we absolutely can not afford to cut programs!!

I hope that you can make an emergency end-of-quarter donation to help us enter the 3rd quarter in a strong position.

But before I get to that, let me pull the curtain back on our operations so you have the full context of what I am facing.

Fundraising numbers for non-profit organizations like ours normally plummet during the summer months. It’s just a reality. And I understand that. Between vacations, Little League games, and just living life, there’s a lot going on.

And that means that organizations like MFA just have to do the best we can with what we have. But if things get too tight, it means cutting back on our gun rights advocacy.

Normally, that’s not too serious as the politicians in Lansing usually head out for their short summer break. But this year, things are very different.

First, Democrats are trying to shred our freedoms and we’re engaged in a massive fight to stop the ban on semi-auto firearms – dubbed “assault weapons” by the Left – that Michigan Speaker Joe Tate said he’s in total support of!

And second, we are joining a major legal action against Joe Biden over the pistol brace ban!!

Soon I’ll go into much more detail on that legal fight but for now, let me put it in perspective.

The pistol brace isn’t the issue. The issue is over the limits of executive authority.

If Joe Biden can bypass Congress and unilaterally declare pistol braces illegal, what is to stop him from doing the same thing to our AR-15s or 30-round mags?

The short answer is: nothing.

And that’s why MFA is joining forces with our national affiliate to drag Joe Biden and the ATF into Federal Court but we can’t afford to do that if our fundraising numbers drop!

Instead of cutting programs to absorb the seasonal drop in fundraising, it’s vital that we have the resources we need to make sure this legal action can commence.

And to do that, I need to close the gap on our fundraising shortfall, and I need to do it fast.

But the lawsuit against Joe Biden isn’t the only reason why I need your help. The fight for gun rights is different now than it was in years past.

There’s just a lot more going on. The gun rights fight moves faster, and there isn’t a slow season anymore.

  • First, there is our federal program.
With Biden in the White House, Democrats running the Senate, and RINOs in the House filing gun control bills, we are spending heavily to alert our members to these federal threats.
  • Second, there is the legal program that I’ve discussed.
Love him or hate him, President Trump filled the Supreme Court and our federal courts with pro-gun judges, and there’s never been a better time to fight for gun rights in court.
  • Third, there is our ongoing fight in Lansing.
Whitmer already signed THREE gun control bills into law and I can tell you for certain that the Democrats in Lansing are cooking up their next major strike against our Second Amendment, including a so-called “assault weapons ban” which is nothing more than a ban on common semi-auto firearms we all use.

As you can see, there is a lot going on right now.

That’s why I hope you’ll agree to send me a donation of $100, $250, or maybe even $500 to help us close our fundraising deficit and avoid having to cut these necessary programs!

I am proud of the fact that the Michigan Firearms Association has one of the leanest overhead costs of any state level gun rights group in the country.

But we’re in a bind here, and we need your help.

So if you can’t afford one of the amounts above, please consider $75, $50, or at least $25 today!

The amount is up to you, but please act fast, I need to close this budget gap immediately so we can sue Joe Biden and STOP Whitmer’s next attack!

For Michigan,

Ben Dorr
Executive Director
Michigan Firearms Association
